That sculpture, the Bethesda Fountain, was made by Emma Stebbins, one of the first professional women sculptors in the U.S. - many wonderful stories behind this piece!
NancyProctor
Also a contemporary of Greenough/Stebbins was Edmonia Lewis, whose stamp is just out! https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/edmonia-lewis-postage-stamp-sculptor-180979326/

any examples of physical/AR combo exhibitions driven by this tech?
MattBlazekHistoryLiveNorthEast
I've been using photogrammetry to scan exhibit items for about a year now. We've gotte really great results using just an iPhone
NancyProctor
Good to hear that the saying, "the best camera for the job is the one in your hand" holds true for 3D as well!
Anonymous5719
How large are the files after scanning? I understand that depending on what tools you use can affect the file size, but an average or range would be great to know, as server space is a challenge sometimes
NancyProctor
Can you talk more about what kinds of surfaces are challenging to scan, and therefore cases where museums should perhaps NOT try to do 3D scanning without professional help/equipment?
NancyProctor
And being able to touch things in museums is not just useful and appealing for people who are blind or have low vision!
NancyProctor
This is really awesome to document and preserve this moment and the response to this sculpture!
